Si è conclusa la quinta edizione del progetto “One Team”.
Negli ultimi due allenamenti i 23 ragazzi delle classi prime dell’Istituto Arcadia hanno dovuto affrontare una sfida particolare. Guidati dalla psicologa di Laureus, Alessandra e dai coach Marilisa, Alessandro e Domenico i ragazzi hanno dovuto ricostruire la loro storia “One Team” su un cartellone.
Abbinando 27 foto a 11 frasi, hanno ripercorso i momenti salienti della loro esperienza ”One Team”, lasciandone così una traccia in palestra. Partendo dalla foto dello spogliatoio con le nuove divise, fino agli incontri con i giocatori, hanno potuto riflettere sui momenti formativi vissuti.
Grazie agli allenamenti con Gigi Datome, Kyle Hines, Peppe Poeta e gli ambassador Laureus Bruno Cerella e Alice Ronchetti i ragazzi hanno così appreso l’importanza di alcune life skills come sostegno, rispetto e fiducia, provando con fatica e impegno a mettersi nei panni di chi oggi è grande. La noia iniziale si è trasformata infatti in curiosità e voglia di scoprire sempre qualcosa di nuovo.
Durante le lezioni i giocatori hanno potuto constatare l’importanza della concentrazione, componente fondamentale per imparare dai propri errori; per finire poi con la frase “La storia di una squadra fiera di ogni suo giocatore”, ben rappresentata dalla foto di gruppo con Kyle Hines, ambassador principale di “One Team”.
Dopo aver individuato in palestra il luogo esatto dove collocare il cartellone, si è poi passati a giocare. I ragazzi sono stati divisi in due squadre, ognuna con due adulti ciascuno, per disputare una partita 4 vs 4. Sfida poi a fulmine prima delle premiazioni finali. Ciascun ragazzo ha infatti ricevuto un attestato finale “One Team” con la firma del coach dell’Olimpia Ettore Messina e la t-shirt bianca playoff edition della squadra. I coach One Team hanno poi donato alla scuola anche 4 biciclette BKT, da consegnare agli alunni più meritevoli. Discorso finale affidato a Michele che dopo aver ringraziato i ragazzi e i coach per l’impegno dimostrato, li ha spronati a diventare i futuri ambasciatori del progetto.
Termina così la quinta edizione di “One Team”, la prima ad essersi articolata in due fasi.
Obiettivo dell’Olimpia è ora quello di tornare l’anno prossimo, dando maggiori opportunità ai ragazzi, con la speranza che si appassionino sempre di più alla palla a spicchi per aiutarli a fronteggiare al meglio le difficoltà quotidiane delle loro vite.
Another year of One Team has come to an end, the gaze is now turned to the near future.
The fifth edition of the “One Team” project has come to an end. In the last two trainings, the 23 boys from Arcadia Institute’s first classes faced a special challenge. Guided by Laureus psychologist Alessandra and coaches Marilisa, Alessandro and Domenico, the boys had to reconstruct their “One Team” story on a poster board. By matching 27 photos to 11 sentences,
they retraced the highlights of their “One Team” experience, thus leaving a trace of it in the gym. Starting from the locker room photo with their new uniforms to their meetings with players, they were able to reflect on the formative moments they experienced. Thanks to the trainings with Gigi Datome, Kyle Hines, Peppe Poeta and Laureus ambassadors Bruno Cerella and Alice Ronchetti, the boys thus learned the importance of some life skills such as support, respect and trust, trying with effort and commitment to put themselves in the shoes of those who are grown up today. Indeed, initial boredom was transformed into curiosity and a desire to always discover something new. During the lessons, the players were able to see the importance of concentration, a key component in learning from their mistakes; ending then with the phrase “The story of a team proud of each of its players,” well represented by the group photo with Kyle Hines, main ambassador of “One Team.” After locating in the gymnasium the exact place to place the billboard, it was then game time. The kids were divided into two teams, each with two adults each, to play a 4 vs. 4 game. Lightning then challenged before the final awards were given. In fact, each boy received a final “One Team” certificate with the signature of Olimpia coach Ettore Messina and the team’s white playoff edition T-shirt. The One Team coaches then also donated 4 BKT bicycles to the school, to be given to the most deserving students. Final speech entrusted to Michele who, after thanking the boys and coaches for their commitment, spurred them to become the future ambassadors of the project.
Thus ends the fifth edition of “One Team,” the first to be divided into two phases.
Olimpia’s goal is now to return next year, giving more opportunities to the boys, with the hope that they will become more and more passionate about basketball to help them better cope with the daily difficulties in their lives.
