Martedì 29 aprile si è concluso l’ultimo allenamento della stagione di One Team. Non è stato uno di quegli eventi spettacolari: è stato qualcosa di più significativo. È stato il momento conclusivo di un percorso durato sei mesi, fatto di programmazione, allenamenti, eventi in palestra e attività speciali al Forum. Sei mesi di lavoro condiviso tra Olimpia Milano, Laureus Italia, e Scalo Milano Outlet & More, durante i quali si è creata una vera connessione tra persone diverse: ragazzi, ragazze, allenatori, ambassador, educatori e membri dello staff.
Il gruppo era composto da ragazze e ragazzi tra gli 11 e i 14 anni. In questi mesi hanno partecipato con impegno, si sono allenati, hanno giocato, si sono messi alla prova. Hanno lavorato sulle abilità sportive, ma anche sul modo di stare insieme. Hanno imparato a collaborare, a rispettarsi, ad ascoltarsi. È stato bello vederli crescere, non solo come giocatori, ma anche come gruppo.
Durante il percorso, anche un semplice allenamento è diventato un’occasione speciale, coinvolgendo persone provenienti da realtà diverse. Ciò che le ha accomunate è che ognuna, in qualche modo, ha portato a casa qualcosa: un sorriso in più, un po’ di fiducia, magari un’amicizia nuova. Ma non solo. Tutti hanno anche dato qualcosa al progetto: un gesto, una parola, un’idea, una semplice presenza.
Tutti hanno lasciato un segno. Ed è proprio da questo scambio continuo – dal dare e ricevere – che è nato il valore più profondo di One Team.
Durante la festa finale hanno partecipato tutti e 3 gli ambassador di Olimpia, Giampaolo Ricci, Shavon Shields e Ousmane Diop. Si sono trasformati in allenatori e arbitri, accettando la sfida lanciata loro: non si sono limitati a fischiare o a dare indicazioni, ma hanno incoraggiato dopo un errore e festeggiato dopo ogni canestro. Hanno restituito energia, ed è stato evidente quanto i ragazzi fossero entusiasti.
Alla fine delle partite c’è stato un momento simbolico con la consegna degli attestati e un’attività creativa legata al filo rosso del progetto: i cinque cerchi olimpici, simbolo delle cinque aree di sviluppo su cui si è lavorato durante l’anno. È stato un modo per fermarsi, guardare il percorso compiuto e lasciare un ricordo.
Alla fine, tanti volti dispiaciuti sapendo che il progetto, per quest’anno, è giunto al termine. Ma anche tanta gratitudine. One Team è stata un’occasione di incontro, collaborazione e crescita. Per questa stagione si chiude qui, con la promessa che l’anno prossimo sarà ancora più ricca. E con la speranza che i legami creati, le esperienze vissute e tutto ciò che si è imparato possano continuare a crescere dentro chiunque abbia partecipato.
One Team: the Value of a Journey That Has Come to an End
On Tuesday, April 29, the final training session of the One Team season took place. It wasn’t one of those spectacular events—it was something even more meaningful. It marked the conclusion of a six-month journey filled with planning, practices, court sessions, and special activities at the Unipol Forum. Six months of shared work, during which a genuine connection was built among diverse individuals: boys, girls, coaches, ambassadors, educators, and staff members.
The group was made up of boys and girls aged 11 to 14. Over the past few months, they showed dedication, trained hard, played, and challenged themselves. They worked on their athletic skills but also on how to be together. They learned to collaborate, to respect one another, and to listen. It was wonderful to watch them grow—not just as players, but as a team.
Throughout the journey, even a simple training session became a special occasion, involving people from different backgrounds. What united them was the fact that each person, in some way, brought something home: an extra smile, a bit more confidence, perhaps a new friendship. But not only that. Everyone also gave something to the project: a gesture, a word, an idea, a simple presence.
Everyone left a mark. And it’s from this ongoing exchange—this giving and receiving—that the deepest value of One Team was born.
All three Olimpia ambassadors—Giampaolo Ricci, Shavon Shields, and Ousmane Diop—joined the final celebration. They became coaches and referees, embracing the challenge presented to them: they didn’t just blow whistles or give instructions—they encouraged after mistakes and celebrated every basket. They brought energy, and it was clear how excited the kids were.
At the end of the games, there was also a symbolic moment with the awarding of certificates and a creative activity tied to the central theme of the project: the five Olympic rings, representing the five areas of development worked on throughout the year. It was a moment to pause, reflect on the journey, and leave a memory.
In the end, there were many disappointed faces as they realized the project had come to an end—for this year. But there was also a lot of gratitude. One Team was an opportunity for connection, collaboration, and growth. This season ends here, with the promise that next year will be even richer—and with the hope that the bonds created, the experiences lived, and everything learned will continue to grow within everyone who took part.
