Ed è terminato anche il lungo viaggio del Mago di Oz. Come tutti i viaggi, che hanno un inizio e una fine, anche questo con One Team è arrivato al capolinea, almeno per questa stagione. Una stagione diversa dalle altre, protratta oltre gli appuntamenti canonici, ma pur sempre significativa. L’importante, come dicono, non è la destinazione ma il viaggio in se e per se e ciò che accade durante il cammino. In questo favoloso cammino alla scoperta dell’immaginifico mondo della pallacanestro e del concetto di squadra che esso insegna, ben sessantacinque bambini, ognuno con le proprie competenze e capacità, con i propri talenti, all’interno del progetto, hanno saputo mettersi alla prova, sperimentando un altro se.
In occasione dell’ultimo incontro in presenza al “campetto” della scuola è stato proposto ai bambini un viaggio alla ricerca di un tesoro, quel tesoro che ognuno di loro da ora in poi potrà custodire. L’allenamento finale è stato incentrato in una giornata di festa con lo scopo di trovare il tesoro come dei pirati alla ricerca del loro bottino. I coach hanno consegnato ai bambini delle buste con diversi indizi che rimandavano ai concetti importanti che durante tutti questi lunghi mesi della durata del progetto, sono stati affrontati con la psicologa di Laureus Alessandra Stella. Ad ogni indizio risolto corrispondeva una prova da superare. Alcune fisiche, talvolta personali e talvolta in squadra, altre tecniche, che davano l’opportunità di avvicinarsi al premio finale. Il tesoro che alla fine tutti sono riusciti a scovare, è stato il libro che ha accompagnato il progetto in tutti questi mesi: Il Mago di Oz. I bambini hanno così riconosciuto i personaggi, con le loro qualità e debolezze, hanno appreso che per fare un viaggio è necessario conoscersi e rispettarsi, ma anche si devono condividere dei valori, affrontando le difficoltà tutti insieme sia nella vita che in un campo da basket.
Il momento dei saluti è stato quello più emozionante. Negli occhi dei bambini il desiderio di abbracciarsi, anche se le stringenti regole anti-covid non lo permettevano, e la voglia di continuare il viaggio, anche se ogni viaggio ha un inizio e una fine; in questo caso però è stato un arrivederci. Incontreremo nuovamente i nostri bambini al palazzetto a tifare tutti assieme Olimpia o chissà, in qualche campo da basket, visto che più di qualche bambino si è appassionato a questo fantastico sport.
And the long journey of the Wizard of Oz is also over. Like all trip, which have a beginning and an end, this one with One Team has also come to an end, at least for this season. A different season from the others, protracted beyond the canonical appointments, but still significant. The important thing, as they say, is not the destination but the journey itself and what happens along the way. In this fabulous journey to discover the imaginative world of basketball and the concept of the team that it teaches, as many as sixty-five children, each with their own skills and abilities, with their own talents, within the project, have been able to put themselves to the test, experiencing another self.
On the occasion of the last meeting in the presence of the school “court”, the children were offered a journey in search of a treasure, that treasure that each of them will be able to keep from now on. The final training was centered on a day of celebration with the aim of finding the treasure like pirates looking for their loot. The coaches gave the children envelopes with various clues that referred to the important concepts that during all these long months of the duration of the project, were faced with the psychologist of Laureus Alessandra Stella. Each clue solved corresponded to a test to pass. Some physical, sometimes personal and sometimes in the team, other techniques, which gave the opportunity to approach the final prize. The treasure that everyone managed to find in the end was the book that accompanied the project in all these months: The Wizard of Oz. The children have thus recognized the characters, with their qualities and weaknesses, they have learned that to make a journey it is necessary to know and respect each other, but also to share values, facing difficulties all together both in life and in a basketball court. .
The moment of saying goodbye was the most exciting. In the eyes of the children the desire to hug each other, even if the strict anti-covid rules did not allow it, and the desire to continue the trip, even if every trip has a beginning and an end; in this case, however, it was a goodbye. We will meet our children again at the sports hall to cheer on Olimpia all together or who knows, in some basketball court, since more than a few children are passionate about this fantastic sport.
