Olimpia Milano has reached an agreement with Timothè Luwawu-Cabarrot, born in Cannes, France, on May 9, 1995, 2.01 mt tall, during the last season with the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks. “Luwawu-Cabarrot – says Olimpia’s general manager, Christos Stavropoulos – is a player in his prime both physically and in terms of basketball skills, he is versatile and athletic. We believe he can help our team a lot.” “I’m very happy to return to Europe e to be part of this organization in Milan. Can’t wait to meet all the fans and start,” Luwawu-Cabarrot said.

WHO’S LUWAWU CABARROT – Tim Luwawu-Cabarrot, of Congolese origins, began playing in the youth teams of Antibes. In 2014 he made his official debut with the first team and in his rookie season he averaged 7.1 points per game. The following season he moved to Serbia to Mega Leks where over 28 Adriatic League games he averaged 14.6 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. At the end of that season, in 2016, he declared for the NBA draft and was selected in the first round by the Philadelphia 76ers, at number 24. He spent two years in Philadelphia then was traded to Oklahoma City and then to Chicago. He then spent two years in Brooklyn and one in Atlanta. During the 2019/20 season, he averaged 7.8 points per game on 38.1 percent shooting from three-point range. In all, he played 328 NBA games with 60 starts and 16.0 minutes played per game. Luwawu-Cabarrot won the silver medal at the Tokyo Olympics scoring 9.0 points per game on 37.5 percent on three-point shooting in the six games of the Olympic tournament. He also won the silver at the 2022 European Championships.

NOTES – Luwawu-Cabarrot scored 11 points in the Tokyo Olympic gold-medal game against the United States. He scored 13 points against Italy in the quarterfinals of the 2022 European Championship, in Berlin.
