He averaged 16.0 points per game in 23.8 minutes on the court, with 21 starts and 28 games played out of 28 games. Above all, Armoni Brooks finished the Italian league regular season with a 66.4 percent two-point shooting percentage, a 37.7 percent three-point shooting percentage on 7.3 attempts per game (his 77 made three-pointers are topping the league), and an 84.4 percent free throw shooting percentage, while also grabbing 4.2 rebounds per game. His individual rating was 14.4 per game, but again in less than 24 minutes on the court. He scored the equivalent of 26.7 points every 40 minutes on the court, and with him, Olimpia outscored its opponents by 9.2 points per 40 minutes. He scored at least 20 points eleven times, including a streak of five consecutive games with 20 or more points. These are the numbers of the MVP of the 2025/26 season. The Armoni Brooks’ numbers.

The only Olimpia player to have previously won the regular season MVP trophy was Danilo Gallinari in 2008. A few days later, he embarked on a very long NBA career. The award has been presented since the 1993/94 season (Carlton Myers). In individual awards, Olimpia has always paid a price for individual statistics, influenced by the sharing of minutes among generally deep rosters. Armoni Brooks, however, outshone the competition for his visual impact, the so-called “eye test,” and the problems he created for opponents in deciding how to guard him, often doubling him in order to force a pass rather than a shot. It’s no coincidence that he was also named the league’s most spectacular player, an award decided by the fans. This regular season, he also scored the game-winning three at the buzzer against Udine; he scored 23 points in 33 minutes when Olimpia beat Virtus Bologna at the Unipol Forum; he decided the game in Venezia with a three-pointer and three free throws. And obviously his most sensational moment came in the Italian Cup Final Eight, when he averaged 19.7 points per game on 57.1 percent three-point shooting; and scored 47 points in his last two games against Brescia and Tortona, making 11 of 17 three-pointers.
Brooks has strengthened his season with solid performances in the EuroLeague, 102 three-pointers in 38 games played – all of them – at 41.6 percent shooting clip, he had eight games of at least twenty points and a career-high 31 points in the victory in Milan against Anadolu Efes in addition to the 50 points scored over two games against Panathinaikos, two huge wins.

Armoni Brooks played at McNeill High School near Austin, Texas, before enrolling at the University of Houston under Coach Kelvin Sampson. He played for the Cougars for three years. In his second year, he averaged 9.3 points per game on 41.9 percent three-point shooting; in his third year, his only one as a starter, he averaged 13.4 points per game, 6.9 rebounds, and shot 39.0 percent on threes. In 2019, he declared for the NBA draft but was not selected. He signed with the Atlanta Hawks but, after being waived, played for their G-League affiliate (the College Park Skyhawks). The following year, he played for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, before making his NBA debut in Houston. Over the course of three seasons, he played for three different teams (after the Rockets, Toronto, and Brooklyn) with 84 appearances and 6.6 points per game. In the 2023/24 season, after ten games with Brooklyn, he played in the G-League, first in Long Island and then in Ontario. In the G-League, he has 116 regular season appearances and 30 Showcase appearances, averaging 13.6 points per game and 38.4 percent three-point shooting on 7.4 attempts per game. He arrived in Milan in the summer of 2024: he has won the Super Cup twice and the Italian Cup as MVP once.
