Olimpia had the game it was supposed to have and took care of business on Game 2, dominating Reggio Emilia 91-65. The lead reached 33 points in the second half, but more important the game was never in doubt. Olimpia shot well, 64.5 percent from two, 43.3 percent from three, all the players helped, the turnovers were limited to a minimum, eight, and the defense never let any hope to the opponents. Essentially, it was a flawless game. Coach Messina had the privilege to share minutes among the entire roster. The top six players were all at 20 minutes or less. The second unit helped big time, starting with Jerian Grant and his all-around effort. Gigi Datome led the scorers with 19 points, Sergio Rodriguez added 14. Incredibly, with just two players scoring in double figure, Olimpia managed to generate 91 points. Pippo Ricci led all the rebounders with six. Olimpia is now leading the best-of-five series 2-0 and moves to Bologna where the series resume on Thursday night.
