Olimpia led from wire to wire in Verona and won comfortably 83-61. After making six threes in the first period, Olimpia closed the game making 14 of them, dominated the boards (43-28) and led by as many as 24 points. Verona attempted a desperate comeback a couple of times, but Olimpia used its defense, its rebounding strength and a hot shooting night off of great ball movement to keep the opponent away. Coach Messina used all his 12 men. “We played a solid game, a serious one. We know what we need to do entering the playoffs, we’ll need to play defense at a high level and share the ball offensively. Tonight, we did just that,” Coach Messina said. Devon Hall led the scorers with 15 points, Billy Baron added 13 points with four threes. Kyle Hines had seven points and seven rebounds, Melli added seven points, all of them in the second half, and eight rebounds.
