Olimpia Milano has reached a multi-year agreement with Darius Thompson, a 1.93m point guard, born in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, on May 4, 1995, coming from Valencia Basket.

HIS CAREER – Raised in Mursfreesboro, Tennessee, Thompson played for the Blackman High School before attending three different colleges, the first was Tennessee in 2013-14, then Virginia from 2015 to 2017 (he sat out a year to comply with the transfer rules in force at the time) and finally at Western Kentucky for the 2017-18 season (averaging 13.6 points, 4.8 assists and 4.2 rebounds per game). His first professional experience was in the Netherlands, in Leiden, where he won the national cup and was named MVP of the Dutch League. In 2019, he moved to Brindisi where he remained for two seasons. During the second he produced 13.4 points and 5.6 assists per game, in addition to finishing first in steals. In 2021, he moved to Russia to Lokomotiv Kuban (13.2 points and 5.8 assists per game in Eurocup) and in 2022 he landed in Vitoria. In his first EuroLeague season, he averaged 12.6 points per game and added 6.7 assists per game, finishing first in the league (he averaged 10.0 points and 6.1 assists per game in the Spanish league). After a year, he moved to Anadolu Efes (11.2 points and 2.9 assists per game in 2023-24; 9.8 and 4.7 assists in 2024-25). During the 2025-26 season, he was in Valencia, finishing the EuroLeague season with 9.0 points, 3.1 assists, and 1.0 steals per game, while shooting 40.2 percent on threes for a team that reached the Final Four. He also helped the team win the Spanish championship, averaging 7.4 points and 2.9 assists per game.

NOTES – In 2019 in the Netherlands, Thompson was the leading scorer and first in steals, as well as the leading scorer in the FIBA ​​Europe Cup. In 2021 in Italy, he was included in the All-Italian league First Team and Second Team of the FIBA ​​Champions League.
