Olimpia started the game slow, went down by ten early in the first period, but used an impressive display of defense and energy to take the game over in the second quarter. A 16-0 run to start the period allowed Olimpia to turn a three-point first quarter deficit into a commanding lead that was never in doubt from that point on. More than that Olimpia received great indications basically from everybody including the players that saw the court rarely over the last few weeks or months. Tommaso Baldasso made three threes and Gigi Datome scored 11 points, making himself three threes in the second half. “Signals have been good this week, both games. It is important that everybody was ready to go, including Baldasso and Datome. The point men gave us a lot again. So, let’s keep working on it,” Coach Ettore Messina said at the end of a comfortable 102-70 win against Pesaro. Shabazz Napier made three straight tree-pointers late in the second period when Olimpia was on fire offensively. The team scored 61 points combined between second and third period. Napier led the scorers with 22 points including a four-point play, Brandon Davies added 16.
