Pallacanestro Olimpia EA7 – Emporio Armani Milano agreed on terms with Curtis Jerrells, a 1.85 mt. tall point-guard, 26 year-old, who played for Besiktas Istanbul during the last season before moving to Maine Red Claws in the D-League to finish it.

WHO’S JERRELLS – He was born in Austin, Texas, on February 5, 1987, attendend Del Valle High School of Austin, where he started all four seasons. In 2005, he led Del Valle to the state final losing 82-79 after an overtime to Sam Houston of San Antonio. As a senior, he averaged 20.2 points per game, with 5.3 rebounds, 4.5 assists and was named district’s Mvp… Recruited by Scott Drew for Baylor, at Waco, Texas, he was named in the Big 12’s All-Rookie team while leading the team in points (13.6), assists and steals… As a sophomore, he was named in the Big 12 Tournament first-team, while leading again the team in points (15.0) and assists… As a junior (2007/08) he was All-Big 12 first team, scored in double-digit 24 times out of 32, scored 36 points in the memorable Baylor win over Texas A&M after five overtimes, led Baylor to the NCAA Tournament and scored 27 points against Purdue… As a senior (2008/09) he led Baylor to the NIT finals and was All-Tournament first team, finishing the season wiht 16.3 points per game… In 2009/10 he played 43 games for the Austin Toros of the D-League while under contract with the San Antonio Spurs. During the 2010/11 season he played for Partizan Belgrade (9.7 points and 3.8 assists per game in Euroleague, 12.1 points in the Adriatic League) and in 2011/12 moved to Fenerbahce Istanbul (plus two games for Murcia in Spain) where he averaged 8.6 points per game… During the last season he played for Besiktas averaging 14.2 points per game in Euroleague with also 2.9 assists while shooting 38.5% from three and 83.3% from the line. He finished the season with the Maine Red Claws of the D-League

NOTES – Jerrells holds the Del Valle High Shool record for most points in a game (47), most points in a season with 688, most free throws made in a game with 27, best three-point shooting percentage in a season with 48.1% and from the line (84.6%)… Del Valle High School retired his number 0 jersey, first player to be honored that way… On February 1st in 2006 he made the memorable three-point field goal which gave Baylor the upset win over Kansas… First player in Baylor histiry to lead the team in points and assists for four consecutive seasons… He finished his college career as first All-time at Baylor in wins, games played, games started (119 on 119), third in points, second in assists… In Austin (D-League) he averaged 20.7 points and 5.7 assists per game… At Partizan he win Serbian league, Serbian Cup and the Adriatic League… In 2010 he played in the D-League All-Star Game.
