Olimpia Milan will begin his season on August, 20, in Milan where the team will stay as its headquarter up to mid September. The very first game will be a close-door scrimmage against Assigeco Piacenza, member of the Italian league second division in the Olimpia’s practice facility. The first official game will be in Castelletto Ticino on September 1st, against another second division team, Junior Casale Monferrato. It will be the first game of the local tournament. Olimpia will play again the next day against historical rival Varese or Biella.
The following weekend, Olimpia will be in Lucca. On September 7, it will face Auxilium Torino, the team led by Hall of Famer coach, Larry Brown. The following day Milan will face the local team from Pistoia or Reyer Venice. On September 15, Olimpia will move to Cagliari and will face Dinamo Sassari in the semifinal of the local tournament before playing its first international game the next night, against Eurocup participant, Limoges, or the perennial EuroLeague contender of Fenerbahce Istanbul. From Cagliari, Olimpia will move to Zadar, Croatia, for the most significant preseason tournament, a three-game in four nights competition, that will include again Fenerbahce, then CSKA Moscow, Bayern Munich, Maccabi Tel Aviv – all of them EuroLeague teams – plus the Liaoning Flying Leopards winner of the last Chinese championsip.
Finally, Olimpia will try to defend its Supercup trophy in Brescia during the last weekend of September. The semifinal game will be played against the home team. Olimpia Italian season will start on Sunday, October 7, while the first EuroLeague game is scheduled to take place in Podgorica, on October 11.
