Before the Kaunas game, Zach LeDay expressed a wish: “I want to be the heart and eyes of this team, the best possible leader.” Then he went to the court and executed: 36 rating points, 26 points including 18 in the first half and eight in the last two minutes and 14 seconds of the game: two free throws, two free throws, a hook and two more free throws. He finished the night with 13-for-13 from the line, a personal best for free throws made and of course for free throws made with no misses. For the season he is the 11th scorer in the EuroLeague, fourth overall in three-point shooting percentage, ninth in free throws percentage (93.3 percent) but with a much higher number of attempts than all the players ahead of him; he is third for fouls drawnnd sixth for personal rating. Zach LeDay is a candidate for the two All-EuroLeague teams. “I just want to be the best leader, play with the eyes of a tiger – he explained at the end – It’s a bless to be able to go on the court and be one of the best power forwards in Europe but what I want is to give everything for my team and be a warrior for my team”.
