Zach LeDay left his number 2, the one he had in his previous experience in Milan, to pick on 16, a number historically rarely used at Olimpia (Nemanja Nedovic wore it). The idea is to build his own legacy. This is one of the curiosities of the summer, with the numbers chosen or confirmed by the players on the roster.<\/strong>

The confirmed players have retained their jersey numbers which for some of them are very significant such as Tonut’s 7, Ricci’s 17, Shields’ 31 and Mirotic’s 33. Josh Nebo found his 32 open and took it. In the history of basketball it is the number traditionally associated with Magic Johnson. David McCormack always played with 33 both at Kansas and in T\u00fcrkey. Here he moved to 35. Ousmane Diop kept the 25 he also had in Sassari.

Neno Dimitrijevic kept the 1 he wore in Kazan ahead of Fabien Causeur’s signing: the former Real Madrid player will wear the 5 he wore in Vitoria early in his career. For Olimpia, the number 5 represents a lot because it has been worn throughout history by Giulio Iellini, Nando Gentile, Alessandro Gentile and Vlado Micov, as well as being Mike D’Antoni’s number in his rookie season. Armoni Brooks will play with the number 12. Leandro Bolmaro will have his customary number 10 which for an Argentinian has a special Maradona’s feeling! In Olimpia, however, is essentially the number wore by the great Sandro Riminucci.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
