It was supposed to be a tough game and a close one, but Olimpia dominated it, start to finish line, and the 79-63 final score doesn’t reflect what went on on the court.<\/strong> Olimpia led wire to wire by as many as 26 points at various moments. Derthona was capable to come back a little late in the second quarter when a 14-point margin was reduced to five after a JP Macura huge three. Olimpia finished the period better gaining a 10-point lead again. In the third, Olimpia exploded with 32 points and the game was secured. “Three trings stood out today – Coach Ettore Messina said – Nicol\u00f2 Melli was very aggressive offensively and we set him up with more patience, Naz Mitrou-Long had a very solid game, defensively he was very effective pressuring the ball, and Gigi Datome finally came back. Turnovers were kept to a minumun, eight, the team made 10 threes, was effective attacking the rim (almost 60 percent from two) and controlled the rebounds.
