In another hard-fought battle, Virtus Bologna prevailed 75-68 in Game 2 of the Italian championship series<\/strong>, tying it at two-game apiece. Now, it is 1-1, with Game 3 and 4 scheduled to be played in Milano, Sunday and Tuesday. Olimpia started the game well, leading 13-4 early in the first, but a couple of turnovers allowed Bologna to comeback fast. The first half was tied, in the second Virtus pretty much led from start to end. They built a seven-point lead that was reduced to one at the end of the third. Olimpia then missed on a sequence of possessions and the game slipped away. Percentages were low througout the game and the rebounding battle that was decisive in Game 1 had the same impact, reversed, in Game 2, 47-34. “Obviously, rebounding has been the key element of both games. Since both teams are missing a lot, getting some extra shots is crucial,” Coach Ettore Messina said. Olimpia was badly affected by Kyle Hines two early fouls. He was forced to get to the bench just three minutes into the game and returned late in the first. He was never his old self. Ben Bentil also struggled with foul troubles, so the rotation was very unusual. Paul Biligha did a great job in the first half, but Olimpia lost the game in the second half. “However, the series is tied at 1, now we have two games in Milano and hopefully we’ll be ready,” Messina added.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
