It was a weird game in Vigevano. Olimpia won 72-70<\/strong> with a field goal made with 0.5 seconds left by Brandon Davies (21 points, 12 in the second half) after an assist by Kevin Pangos. But, in order to win, Olimpia had to comeback from 26 points down. For 15 minutes it was an Olimpia at the mercy of Pesaro: after going down 45-19, the run was an amazing 53-25. The defense rose in terms of intensity, caused turnovers, forced shots, and affected the opponents’ shooting percentages. The offense had too many turnovers, was unconsistent at times, but it found the needed weapons: first Kevin Pangos who shrank the deficit back to regular margin towards the end of the first half, then Billy Baron with two threes at the start of the second half inspired another comeback that was halted when the team was wtihin two. And finally when an excellent Vuelle accelerated again, Olimpia rode the inside game of Davies, also used in combination with Kyle Hines, who was covering the power forward. In the end, Davies was crucial. The last comeback was also determined by the use of three point guards together, including Tommaso Baldasso and Mitrou-Long who struggled a little before finishing with a couple of excellent plays, even at the defensive end of the floor.
