Coach Simone Pianigiani talked today about the upcoming EuroLeague game against Darussafaka: “It’s an unusual game because there’s no link to the one that we played in Istanbul. Since then, they changed the coach and added among other things Toney Douglas, who spent almost his entire career in the NBA, is the second EuroLeague scorer behind Mike James and has scored over 18 points on average over the last month. He has changed the look of a team that defeated Baskonia two weeks ago and almost won against Efes in the Turkish league. Darussafaka is a great rebounding team offensively, they grab one rebounds every three available, even against teams of superior size with their much improved specialist, Michael Eric. We are going to play without both Gudaitis and Tarczewski at the same time, we have many injuries to deal with and it’s going to be necessary to share differently minutes among our guards, while playing inside with only one center, Alen Omic. In spite of that we have enough players and enough pride to play like we did in Gran Canaria during the second half. We were short on players. but we responded with great pride and finished the game better. In terms of mentality and courage we will be ready to go”
