Olimpia suddenly went ice-cold from the perimeter (8-for-25), after three hot shooting nights, but led from wire to wire and won 81-67 over Brescia,<\/strong> staying unbeaten in the Supercup qualifying round (4-0). The defensive effort was there, keeping Brescia under control especially Drew Crawford and Chris Burns, the duo that made winning the first two games possible. Burns was held to five points, Crawford never took the game over and finished with just 12 points.\u00a0 \u201cThey tried to control the tempo, to keep us from running and at some point we got nervous because we missed some open shots. It was a serious game exactly because we weren\u2019t so fluid and we won with our defensive effort,\u201d Coach Ettore Messina said. Looking for saving some energy, Olimpia elected to rest Kevin Punter, the team leading scorer so far. On top of it some things didn\u2019t go Olimpia\u2019s way. The most offensively inspired player, Malcolm Delaney was called with a technical foul early in the third quarter and since it was his fourth foulas he had to leave the court and be protected. Still, he managed to score 25 points while getting fouled nine \u00a0times. Olimpia went 21-for-24 from the line, attacking the defense tirelessly, Kyle Hines and Kaleb Tarczewski combined for a 7-for-8 night in the paint, Sergio Rodriguez accumulated six assists, but defense was what won the game for Milan.<\/p>\n
