So long, Streak. Olimpia\u2019s impressive start of the season with 12 consecutive wins, a team-record, ended in Avellino. The locals won 85-81 in a playoff-type climate. Olimpia was without Nemanja Nedovic and Kaleb Tarczewski, lost Jeff Brooks in the middle of the third quarter (back spasms) and was definitely plagued by its ice-cold shooting night (to be fair, Mike James\u2019 only three early in the game, correctly signaled as a three-point basket by the referees, was wrongly registered as a two-pointer by the officials\u2019 table). However, Avellino led most of the game, Keifer Sykes was amazing, scoring 31 points. Olimpia tried to take control early in the third and again in the fourth period but shooting was the problem of the day. In the end Avellino won deservedly: its final run was launched by a flagrant foul called on Micov that generated four straight free throws made. \u201cIn reality, we made a lot of mistakes every now and then and I expected this because we played and travelled so much the last couple of weeks. I regret that my players were a little too nervous and wasted energy. In a day like this, we should have stayed calm and wait for the right moment to get away. We could\u2019ve won anyway but in the end we didn\u2019t execute well. A loss is a loss especially at this time of the year it doesn\u2019t mean anything, I\u2019m more troubled by the injuries. It\u2019s pretty obvious that when Nedovic is playing we are close to be the team that we want to be.
