The streak is over. After winning 41 consecutive home games in the Italian League, Olimpia lost to an Avellino team in great shape. Sidigas won 81-80 behind a monumental effort in the last five minutes. Olimpia played an usual game, dominationg in spurts and getting up by 13 with five minutes left. Then Avellino regained confidence, made three after three, used a flagrant foul called on Jamel McLean that was instrumental in giving them one more possession. Avellino scored 4 points out of that play and tied up the score. The Leunen on a three responded to McLean who made two free throws and put his team ahead by one. Olimpia had one last chance but didn’t execute properly. Olimpia played well but approached the game in a bad mood including the third quarter, some time it played well at both ends of the florr but with no consistency and finally lost allowing Avellino to score 20 in the last five minutes with no dfeensive stop. Kruno Simon scored 20 points and nMantas Kalnietis had a promisign debut. But in the end the streak was over.
