The semifinal started in the worst way for Olimpia. The team came up short after a tough game it was able to control, building up to a 9-point lead on the different moments. The alst five minutes were decisive: Sassari was still sharp while Olimpia’s offense stagnated a little and the defense wasn’t capable to keep up with Sassari’s quickness. Olimpia missed some free throws and allowed some offensive rebounds but mostly was impacted by Alessandro Gentile foul trouble. They called two quick fouls on him and then early in the third he was called with the third foul, he had a reaction against himself that was unexplicable misinterpreted and considered a complain. He was called with a technical and the fourth foul which basically eliminated him from the game. Later he was even ejected. 84-75 Sassari with game 1 coming up on Sunday.
