He’s back, he’s back. Alessandro Gentile in the third game from his latest setback because of an injury made a sensational step-back jumper from the right side to avoid Davide Pascolo’s long arms and winning the game for Olimpia. It wasn’t a buzzer beater for a matter of moments. As a matter of fact it was the decisive shot of the game. Olimpia won 62-61 in Trento, starting the game slowly again, coming back in the second half, taking a five-point commanding lead, only to go down by eight in the fourth. The final possessions were spectacular. After Alessandro Gentile went two for two from the line to tie the score again, Coach Repesa deliberately decided to foul and send Poeta to the line guaranteeing to his team the last possession. Poeta made one fre throw. And Olimpia went up with 17 seconds left. It was an isolation for Gentile against Pascolo. He circled around the lane, sending away the screen, got separation from his defender in order to take a beautiful mid-ranger to win the game and close out the series 3-0.
