Shavon Shields, born in Overland Park, Kansas, on June 5, 1994, 2.01 mt. tall, small forward and guard, came to Milan in the month of July, 2020, from Baskonia. During the August of 2024 he's been named Olimpia's co-captain.
2024/25 SEASON - He helped the team win the Supercup, averaging 7.0 points and 5.0 assists per game, leading the competition in the latter category. On March 13, in Belgrade, vs Red Star, he became the club all-time leader for two-pointers in the EuroLeague surpassing Kyle Hines.
2023/24 SEASON - He helped the team win the Italian league championship, averaging 13.1 points per game. In Game 1 of the championship series had a 6-for-7 three-point shooting night. During the Bologna game, he became the 4th player ever to surpass the 1.000 points scored for Olimpia in the EuroLeague. He was named EuroLeague Round 15 Co-Mvp (25 of index rating, vs Asvel). On March 20, 2024, he replaced Bob McAdoo as the club’s all-time leading scorer in the top international competition. On April 5, 2024, in a game vs Virtus Bologna became the Olimpia all-time leader for three-pointers made in the EuroLeague. On June 6, he became the all-time second-best scorer in the championship series of the Italian league.
2022/23 SEASON - He became the Olimpia all-time third-best scorer in the EuroLeague during the game in Belgrade, surpassing Antonello Riva and Alessandro Gentile. During the playoffs, he became the Olimpia 8th-best scorer ever in the post-season. During the championship series, he became the 3rd-best scorer in the Italian league finals on top of being just the second foreigner capable to reach the finals in each of his first five seasons in the league. He helped the team win the championship averaging 14.2 points and 4.2 rebounds during the playoffs.
2021/22 SEASON - He clared the 800 points scored for Olimpia in the EuroLeague. Member of the Italian Cup winning team. He was named to the All-EuroLeague second team for the seconda straight season. He helped the team win the Italian league championship. During the playoffs, he averaged 14.3 points and 3.8 rebounds per game, shooting with 42.4 percent from three. He was named the champioship series' MVP.
2020/21 SEASON - He helped Olimpia win the Supercup by averaging 10.3 points per game, he then hemped the team win the Italian Cup and averaged 9.0 points per game. In Munich, EuroLeague, made the winning three-pointer with nine seconds left in the overtime. He set his new career-high of 34 points when Olimpia defeated Bayern in Game 5 of the EuroLeague playoffs. He also had 41 of index rating, another personal best, like the 11 free throws made in that game. He was named the EuroLeague MVP of the week. In the Italian league, ha set his personal best of points (35), three-pointers (seven) and rating (37) in a win over Virtus Bologna. Ha was named to the All-EuroLeague second team, helped the team clinch a Final Four berth while averaging 16.4 points per game during the playoffs.
HIS CAREER – Raised in Olathe, Kansas, where he attended the Northwest High School, Shields has been the Sunflower conference MVP as a senior at the end of a career in which he finished as the first in school history for points, rebounds and steals. In 2012, he landed at the University of Nebraska, where he stayed four years and finished as the all-time fifth scorer. In 2015/16, he averaged 16.8 points per game and was selected in the All-Big Ten Conference second team. In 2016/17, he played for the Frankfurt Skyliners, before moving to Trento for the playoffs. He played two seasons in Trento, playing the Italian league finals twice. In 2017/18, he averaged 14.3 points per game in Italy. In 2018 he signed for Vitoria, where he made his EuroLeague debut. He averaged 9.6 points per game in 59 appearances. He won the 2020 Spanish championship.
