Belgrade’s performance against Maccabi (39 personale rating, 26 points, 4-on-4 on twos, 3-for-7 on threes, 9-for-9 from the line, 7 rebounds, and 6 assists) earned Shavon Shields—along with Panathinaikos’ Kendrick Nunn—the EuroLeague Round 13’s MVP award. This is the first time, this season, that an Olimpia player has received the award. It’s the 18th time overall since 2008/09. Shields has previously been named Round’s MVP for Olimpia in 2023/24 after a game with Asvel and in 2020/21 after Game 5 of the playoffs against Bayern Munich.

Before him, the Round MVPs for Olimpia were: Mike Hall (2008/09), Omar Cook (2011/12), Curtis Jerrells (2013/14), Alessandro Gentile and Samardo Samuels (2014/15), Jamel McLean and Ricky Hickman (2015/16), Mike James (2018/19), Nicolò Melli and Brandon Davies (2022/23), Maodo Lo and Johannes Voigtmann (2023/24), Zach LeDay (2024/25).

Shavon Shields is averaging 14.6 points per game, 3.9 rebounds, and 3.1 assists. He’s shooting 60.8 percent from two, 35.9 percent from three, and 85.7 percent from the free-throw line. He has a 16.5 average personal rating. In his sixth season with Olimpia Milano, Shields is fourth all-time in EuroLeague appearances with the club, first in points scored, second in assists and steals, fourth in rebounds, first in two-pointers, three-pointers, and free throws made.
