After a break-out season, Shavon Shields was finally included on the All-EuroLeague second team. During the season, he was named Game 5’s MVP, and set his career highs in points (34), index rating (41) on top of averaging 13.9 points per game, up from 9.5, and shot 43.3 percent from three-point range (another unheard of increment). Shields is the first Olimpia player since 2014 to be included in the All-EuroLeague first or second team. In 2014 it was Keith Langford to receive the honor. During the journey, Shields cleared the 1.000-point barrier, made his 100th three, grabbed his 300th rebound and dished his 100th assist. Obviously, his best game was also the last when he torched Bayern Munich with 34 points, going 11-for-12 from the line. Coming off Nebraska, Shields embarked on a European career that started in Frankfurt and eventually led him to Trento and Vitoria where he stayed two yeard, debuting in the EuroLeague. This is his first season in Milan. On the second team he joins Shane Larkin (Efes), Nando De Colo (Fenerbahce), Will Clyburn (CSKA Moscow) and Brandon Davies (Barcelona). The first-team was formed by Kevin Pangos (Zenit), Vasa Micic (Efes), Vladimir Lucic (Bayern), Nikola Mirotic (Barcelona) and Edy Tavares (Real Madrid).
