On a short rest, Olimpia will face Cremona during Christmas eve matinee. It is the third game in five days, the fourth during the last week, and there are many adversities to overcome starting with the players who won’t be available: Nikola Mirotic, Maodo Lo, Pippo Ricci, but Billy Baron will sit out this game after forcing himself to play against Panathinaikos on Friday night. Shavon Shields and Kyle Hines might be out too. “The EuroLeague format force teams sometimes to play a game they didn’t really prepare for – Assistant Coach Mario Fioretti said – so the mental approach will be crucial for us. We need to focus in executing our game plan, offensively and defensively, against a Cremona team very aggressive and capable to play together on offense.” Olimpia will add one key player on Sunday: Shabazz Napier, who played 27 Italian league game last season, is ready to go, providing leadership, ball handling, creativity and some shooting. The game will be important for the Italian Cup Final Eight seeding and Cremona is hanging on the last place good for qualifying. So, a win is a must for both teams. No doubt it wont’ be a Charistmas peaceful game.
