Game 3 was a battle and Sassari won it 84-76 in spite of a game for the ages by Alessandro Gentile. Two days after scxoring 25 points, he set his new playoff-career best by sconring 27. Unfortunately it wasn’t enough to secure the win. Olimpia had a solid fist half and the halfitme lead, four points, was not big enough to explain the quality of the game exhibited. But in the second half Sassari had more energy. The offensive boards, some defensive lapses and free throw missed cost the game. Olimpia erased a 7-point deficit to tie the score but then Logan made a three and Sassari built on it to close the game. Over the game cast the specter of what happened in the first half when Edgar Sosa hit Bruno Cerella with a punch to the throat away  from the ball. The referees saw everything beacuse a flagrant foul was sanctioned and still there w as no immediate ejection as it should have been. Game 4 is scheduled to be played on Thursday in Sassari when the home team leading the series 2-1.
