Olimpia’s Euroleague season is beginning on Friday Night inside the friendly confines of the Forum. Coach Jasmin Repesa had this to say: “As a team we are working on ball movement and to improve the things we still don’t execute well defensively. We need time to stay and work together because we didn’t enjoy much practice time because of our schedule during the last three weeks. Vitoria has been together a little more, I watched them in the Moscow tournament and appreciated what they did against Estudiantes last Sunday. It was a no-contest: they were up by 30 in the first half. We know they like to run and run so we need to control the boards and to limit their fastberak and transition game. If we do that we are one step closer to win a game we absolutely want to win”.

Robbie Hummel is about to play his first Euroleague game. He’s the only one in Olimpia to have never played in this competition, altough he played in two NBA seasons: “I know this is a very physical competition, more physical than the Italian league is, so we need to adjust once more because we know Vitoria is a team with a lot of size. My personal goal is to be as versatile as possible, trying to figure out what the team needs to win. I’m trying to help with my scoring, rebounding the ball, playing good defense, helping overall”.
