Coach Simone Pianigiani spoke about the upcoming game in Istanbul against the defending champions of Fenerbahce: “They are obviously a contending team, with the second-best defense in the entire EuroLeague and a terrific physicality. We’ll have to overcome those traits in spite of playing without Jordan Theodore. Our point-guard was giving us a lot of offensive rhytm lately. This is an opportunity, under extreme difficulties, to grow as a team, experimenting new line-ups. Fenerbahce is going to pose many problems, of course, especially with their pick and roll system and the many mismatch they can take advantage of. We’ll have to resist using the same competitiveness we had in the Milan game against the same opponent”.
Olimpia will play without Theodore and also without Davide Pascolo and Awudu Abass because of previous commitment with the National Team.
