Coach Simone Pianigiani talked after the game 5 win over Trento: “It was a good game of basketball, we won all the good basketball games that we played in this series. Our goal was to decide the tempo like we did in game 1 and 2. The first quarter was excellent then we lost a little bit of focus, allowing them to score some easy points on the break and then it was frustrating to go down at the half. In the second half we were mentally strong because there were so many situations where it seemed that everything was against us, let’s think about the two offensive rebounds they got after missed free throws, or about Cinciarini’s fifth foul, when they almost made a 5 seconds violation, and finally think about some of the field goals that they made especially Shields, he was really incredible. He is great but scored tremendous field goals. We are now about game 6 and we will take everything we can from the remaining energies, trying to play in Trento our kind of game. The support of our fans gave us a lot of energy: if we need it we will also have it in game 7 but now we have two chances to win one game. We deserved the win, because we were almost always ahead, we were up by eight in the fourth, then as it happens in basketball so many times, we could have lost it at the end. But we were good at executing the plays down the stretch and I like that the crucial play defensively was made by a player like Goudelock, who’s known for other reasons. We lost  game 3 because of their offensive rebounds and game 4 because we allowed them to score too many fastbreak points”.
