Coach Simone Pianigiani talked about the upcoming game with Zalgiris Kaunas: “They are a very tough team and this is the first thing we need to worry about and be prepared for. They are tough defensively with a very clear identity and a well-proved system. But they are tough offensively too, different from the other EuroLeague teams. Zalgiris is capable to push you inside the paint, draw fouls, attack the rim while executing the plays really well and using their mental toughness. It’s going to be a complicated game: we will have problems matching-up with them, more problems than we normally experience against more talented teams. We will have to raise our defensive efficiency, being tougher and be ready to battle with more offensive fluidity and maybe the ability to score some fastbreak points to avoid their defensive wall. Winning would be a great sign of maturity and toughness and of the strides we made, let alone the standing”.
