Olimpia will spend the weekend trying to defende the Supercup Trophy conquered last year. The 2017 edition will take place in Forlì. Olimpia will face Trento in the first semifinal on Saturday: it’s the same Trento team who eliminated Milan from the playoffs last year and kept seven players from that roster. Olimpia finished the pre-season 7-1 but only in Cremona Coach Pianigiani could feature his complete team. And the practice time was very limited. “It’s a fact that we have prcaticed together for only a few days – the Coach said – On top of that many of our players are experiencing Italy for the first time, they don’t know each other and they don’t know the coaching staff. To say that we are a work in progress is an understatement, but we are fully aware of what this trophy represents. A sports competition is also about  desire, motivations and the ability to rise at the right time. We’ll look for any resources within the team to overcome a Trento team that for the most part is still the same. They have a team identity we cannot have. I’m curious about how we’ll respond after a very satisfying pre-season. This game is the first step of a long path and what I really want is the right attitude and the right spirit. Whatever will come out from this weekend we’ll use it to build the next steps”.
