Coach Simone Pianigiani talked at length after the home win over Malaga: “We deserved the win and I’m especially glad for the guys because of their daily effort. We need confidence. When you start from the scratch the worst that can happen is that feeling of working hard and never have the wins to show for it. It affects your confidence. We talked, approaching this game, about playing without fear and never panick in difficult times. There was a critical juncture during the game when they scored a three at the end of first half and then went up early in the third. But we responded. Then I can talk about our offensive game against a team known for its defense. We opened up the middle by making shots and for the first time getting 27 points out of the power forward position. So Theodore had the room to operate and he did. The chemistry is getting better and better. Take Micov for example: he sacrificed himself covering Nedovic, a guard, in order to allow Goudelock to spend more energy on offense. Or take Jerrells: he played only 11 minutes but made the right things mostly defensively and with a couple of threes. I liked what I saw with finally a complete roster. Now we need to stay consistent”.
