Coach Simone Pianigiani spoke today about the upcoming EuroLeague game in Madrid: “It’s our third consecutive gme against a EuroLeague title contender. Real Madrid has some injuries to deal with but the talent and depth especially among the perimeter guys to play at a very high level. With less bigs to use, I expect them to choose during the game between a traditional line-up with Felipe Reyes at the 4 or a smaller one with Radoncic or even Maciulis. On their home court to have a chance to stay in the game we need to keep them from setting the tempo and play at a faster pace because they have the creativity of players like Campazzo and Doncic to make you lose contact and if that happens you’re done. So the key is to start with limiting the turnovers and contain their transition, especially in the first 10 seconds of every possession. They can score at anytime but to let them kill you early would be devastating. We want to stay in the game, that’s the goal, but we are aware of what we need to do possession after possession. At the end we’ll be a better team”.
