It was a statement game. Olimpia started it with a thunderous Samardo Samuels’ dunk and never looked back, leading wire to wire and finishing with a 17-point margin, for a 97-80 win over Sassari, who looked too thin to describe what happened on the court. Olimpia led by as many as 30 points, dominated the game offensively and defensively, five players scored in double figures, led by Alessandro Gentile and MarShon Brooks with 20 points each. In the first half, EA7 was sharp, effective and aggressive. It had just one turnover for the first twenty minutes. Sassari in spite a 27-point outing by Jerome Dyson, was never in the game, was never close and never threatened a marvelous show. Olimpia won its consecutive game number 18 in the league and the number 30 at home in regular season play.
