Olimpia lost in Trento the second game of its Italian league season where the record is now 9-2. After a 3-for-17 three-point shooting first half, trailing by as many as 15 points, Olimpia again went behind by 14 with a little more than seven minutes left in the game. Then, finally, the team assaulted the opponent, found some rhythm offensively and some efficiency defensively. Over a six-minute span shrank the deficit to one points and had twice the possession to get ahead. Luwawu-Cabarrot fade-away however was short and Brandon Daves accounted for a turnover a little later. Trento deserved the win, because led for the length of the game. “We didn’t move the ball in the first half, we didn’t have any patience, we didn’t pass the ball inside, we settled for too many jump shots and finally we had turnovers that led to easy points for them. Give them a lot of credit, they played a very good game, but we came here thinking that one quarter was enough to win the game. It is not. We didn’t show the necessary humility and we weren’t professional enough. We are very disappointed,” Coach Ettore Messina said. Luwawu-Cabarrot scored 17 points, Johannes Voigtimann added 10 second half points and Devon Hall 13. Olimpia finished 10-for-31 from three. In the fourth quarter it was able to score 28 points, but failed to get to 20 in each of the first three periods. One quarter was not enough.
