Sassari’s shooting created a lot of problems in the first half, then they used also the inside presnce of Miro Bilan mostly to get away in the second half. Olimpia followed Michael Roll lead to stay in the game, coming back and finally taking control. The shooting guard made a late mid-range jumper in the third to keep Olimpia down by three, then he made four consecutive threes in the fourth quarter and when he was done, Milan was leading the game. I’m very happy to say something about Michael Roll. He came off two games where he didn’t play and was ready to perform against a top-level team in a very important game for us.” Roll replaced Kevin Punter, who was rested tonight, and responded with a fantastic outing. “In the fourth quarter, everybody took responsibility. It’s a very significant win,” Messina added. Zach LeDay scored 14 points and rabbed eight rebounds, Kyle Hines didn’t score but grabbed eight rebounds himself and was a giant anchoring the defense late in the game, with a couple of great blocked shots. Sergio Rodriguez found his shot back and was instrumental in keeping Olimpia in the game, whila Malcolm Delaney made the transition three that capped the decisive run.
