Pallacanestro Olimpia EA7 Emporio Armani Milano agreed on terms for one season and a club option for the following season with Charles Jenkins, 26, coming from Red Star Belgrade.
WHO’S JENKINS – Born on February 28, in Brooklyn, New York, Charles Jenkinsis a 1.91 guard who used to play for Holy Cross High School and then Springfield Gardens High School.In 2006 he enrolled at Hofstra University where for three consecutive seasons was included in All-CAA First Team and for two years was named Player of The Year. In 2011, he was drafted by the Golden State Warriors in the second round, with the number 44. He was signed by Teramo during the lockout but when the NBa resumed its season, the contract was voided. For ine year and half he stayed in Golden State averaging 5.8 points per game during his rookie season. In February 2013 he was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers where he finished the season. In the summer of 2013 he signed a one-year contract with Red Star but he extended the deal for a second season. During the 2013/14 season he played the Eurocup averaging 12.6 points per game, 2.1 assists and he was 43.2% in three-point shooting. He also averaged 10.9 points per game in the Serbian League and 10.7 in the Adriatic League where he was a 44.4% three-point shooter. In 2014/15he averaged 11.0 points per game in the Adriatic League and 10.7 in the Serbian League. He won both competition. He won also the Serbian Cup during the last two years.
NOTES – He played 24 Euroleague games in 2014/15. During the Top 16 he averaged 8.9 points per game, he went 20/24 from the line and was a 35.9% three-point shooter. He had a season-high of 17 points against Panathinaikos… In 2011 was included in the All-America third-team and his number 22 jersey has been retired at Hofstra.
