Olimpia survived everything in the Italy Cup’s semifinal against Reggio Emilia. It survived three technical fouls to none; the ejection of head coach Jasmin Repesa at halftime, foul troubles (Hickman had three fouls in the first period, for example), a terrific 5/5 shooting night by Andrea De Nicolao, a 10-point deficit in the first half and a 8-point deficit in the fourth, to win 87-84. Olimpia won because the desire down the stretch was simply overwhelming. Rakim Sanders put his hands everywhere on his way to a commanding 22-point, 5-steal, 5-assist, do-it-all game. Davide Pascolo led the comeback in the fourth quarter scoring 14 points while the decisive field goals were three three-pointers made in the fourth by Dragic, Cinciarini and finally Macvan. The six-point lead with 15 seconds left was the end.
