Olimpia used a 16-0 run between first and second quarter to get away in Pesaro, eventually winning 97-82. Milan led by as many as 21 points in the third period. Dominic Artis and James Blackmon led Pesaro to a furious rally. In the fourth the margin was momentarily reduced to eight points but Olimpia was capable to control the outcome, saving energy and distributing minutes among many players. “For 25 minutes we did exactly what we were supposed to do – Coach Pianigiani said at the end – because we created an early gap. Then we lost a little bit of concentration, and in the second half our defense was not very sharp but given the circumstances we did well. We showed the desire to compete and get the win in the right way”. Mike James led Olimpia’s scorers with 19 points in 24 minutes, Christian Burns had a double double with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Micov and Kuzminskas scored in double digit, while Kaleb Tarczewski went 4 for 5 from the field.
