Olimpia took over in the fourth quarter led by a terrific all-around Mike James game who scored 26 points with an impressive array of driving lay-ups and jumpers during the stretch. Milan tried to put its hands on the game early but a couple of turnovers let Bologna get the lead in the second and again in the third. Three consecutive threes, by James, Nedovic and Micov gained Olimpia the lead in the third and after a brief answer by Bologna early in the fourth it was the Mike James show all over the court. 88-79 was the final score. Arturas Gudaitis had a double double too, five players scored in double digit including Christian Burns who used all his energy and quickness early in the fourth against Virtus’ big man, Brian Qvale. “It was a serious, solid game. We had everything under control in the first half, played at our pace in the second half and the third quarter was instrumental because we didn’t have any turnovers. I dind’t want to use anybody for 30 minutes, not matter what”, Coach Pianigiani said at the end.
