Olimpia stayed in the game in the first half because of 11 offensive boards, only three turnovers and a solid defense, in spite of shooting 9 for 28 from close range. But the second half was another story: Milano shot 13 for 18 from two, kept defending really well, was tough inside and prevailed 82-75. Many players helped the cause. Davide Pascolo was instrumental with his energy. He went 5 for 6 from the field, grabbed seven rebounds, had 20 points of index rating and made a couple of clutch plays in the second half. OIlimpia took off when Goudelock and Jerrells who combined for zero points in the first half, got into a nice rhythm in the second. Goudelock had eight consecutive points in the third, Jerrells set the tempo well in the fourth and made himself some clutch shots. It was the six straight win for Olimpia. “It was a serious game from our part after a long and exhausting week. Many guys were at the threshold of fatigue but they competed. We moved the ball really well even in the first half but then we missed easy shots and couldn’t go to the line enough. Their small guys were very good at clogging the middle and put their hands on balls. But the second half was better, we made 13 of our 19 two-point shots and that changed everything”, Coach Pianigiani said after the win.
