It’s 87-65 Olimpia in the last Valtellina’s outing, in Sondrio, against Avtodor Saratov. It was a real game because after playing very well the first five minutes, Olimpia had to overcome Saratov zone defense for many minutes. The third quarter, when MarShon Brooks scored 13 points in a little more than six minutes, was decisive. In the fourth Linas Kleiza withe three consecutive baskets kept the opponents at arm’s length. Alessandro Gentile had a very promising debut. In the first period he was convincingly the best player on the floor attacking the rim with aggressiveness and energy. Late in the game he dunked a Brooks’ alley-oop pass and seconds later he returned the favor. David Moss had a terrific game in terms of energy and defense playing mostly at the four, like Gentile did, because of Samardo Samuels, Shawn James and Nicolò Melli unavailability. Melli is supposed to be back in the line-up next weekend in Desio.
OLIMPIA – Ragland 10 (2/3, 2/3), Brooks 24 (4/5, 2/4), Moss 9 (4/5, 0/3), Gentile 11 (3/4, 0/4), Gigli 5 (2/2), Kleiza 14 (3/3, 2/3), Hackett 1 (0/2, 0/3), Meacham 6 (2/3 da tre), Cerella 4 (2/3, 0/1), Peterka 3 (0/1, 1/1).
