Olimpia built its game right from the jump ball and never let momentum coming away, in a powerful 87-56 win over Brescia. Milano started the game with two Michael Roll threes, had immediately a double-digit margin and never looked back. The margin went up and down, but the outcome was never in doubt. Shavon Shields had his seventh straight double-figure game (16), Zach LeDay added seven rebounds to his 15 points, Michael Roll was lethal from the arc, making four of his six attempts. But Olimpia was sharp facing a lot of zone defense and Brescia attempt to slow the tempo down. Jeff Brooks grabbed nine reboudns to go along his seven points and was another key factor of the night. Coach Ettore Messina challenged his team to play a high-intensity defensive game for 40 minutes and the team responded. “I’m glad that we did and about being able to share the minutes across the roster, unfortunately we lost Gigi Datome with an injury, but this team has been able to play for a long time without Malcolm Delaney and Kevin Punter, doing its job anyway. This is something I’m not going to forget, so I guess we need to thank the guys for the effort,” Coach Messina said at the end.
