Finally, both Denzel Valentine and Willie Caruso scored in double digit. “My intention entering this game was to ride Caruso a little more than usual. That’s why we never use Alex Poythress,” Messina pointed out. Caruso started at the power forward position next to Melli and scored 10 points. Valentine added 13 coming off the bench. “It was a step up for him, I liked what he did defensively against Gentile down low,” Messina said. Kyle Hines had another monster game, nine points, five rebounds, four assists and 4-for-5 from the field. Olimpia will face Brescia in the next round. Both teams have the same 20-8 record.
