In Reggio Emilia, Olimpia spent the night chasing the home team and eventually came up short, losing 73-68. Afflicted by terrible shooting percentages from the arc, Olimpia fell down by 15 in the third quarter because Reggio was hot with Olisevicius, Senglin and obviously its leader Andrea Cinciarini. Milano struggled all night long: Gigi Datome started the game and made the first of the night, one more triple was made early in the second period by Devon Hall. That was it for the night. Late in the third and early in the fourth the defense was really good. Olimpia close the third with a 5-0 run, then held Reggio Emilia scoreless for about five more minutes. But unable to score consistently never completed the come back. At some point, Olimpia was behind by two but Brandon Davies (22 points) missed the tying driving attempt. Reggio Emilia then extended the lead to three points and Olimpia put the ball in the best hands but Billy Baron missed the contested three to tie the game once more. “The way we started the third quarter was mediocre, we allowed them to make thre straight threes, we had a couple of turnovers. We responded in the fourth, the fourth quarter defense was good both in terms of efforts and execution because we created problems for the entire period, but we mighty struggle to score in any way,” Coach Ettore Messina admitted.
