Olimpia approached game 4 with the expected sense of urgency. It survived a lot of adversities including foul troubles, Gentile’s shooting slump for three quarters amd obviously Rakim Sanders turning his left ankle in the second period, to win 88-80. The series is now tied at 2 with game 5 scheduled for Friday in the Mediolanum Forum friendly confines. Olimpia was intense and tough, led wire to wire (Venezia was only able to tie up at 47 in the third) and dominated the boards (Batista grabbed 12). Kruno Simon had an outstanding game scoring 25 points and many of them were clutch. Gentile in spite of struggling to rediscover his touch after the surgery at the right hand never lost control of his game and in the fourth attacked the paint relentlessly scoring 11 fourth-quarter points.
