Olimpia stormed into the serie winning 87-80 after a dominating performance. The final margin didn’t reflect Olimpia’s game. The team controlled the boards, was oustanding offensively and had a lot of intensity and aggressiveness. For many minutes Rimas Kaukenas was the only problem. He scored 27 points, had a fantastic game but was alone. Olimpia used a devastating start in the secondo quarter to open a 17-point lead that was replicated again in the second half. Reggio Emilia had a couple of run late in the game but was never dangerous. So the first game was good. “I liked the energy that the second unit brought to the game. Both times they gave us an advantage. Simon and Gentile brought the ball up so often because they are very good at isolating the point men but we need to move the ball more, to have less ups and downs”, Coach Repesa said at the end.
