Pallacanestro Olimpia EA7 Emporio Armani Milano signed center Stanko Barac, 29, 2.17, who’ll report to the team during the weekend in order to start prcaticing on Monday in Bormio.
WHO’S STANKO BARAC – Stanko Barac was born in 1986 on August 14 in Mostar. He’s a Croatian citizen who grew up in the Siroki Youth system. In 2004 he was with the first team and won the Bosnian championship in 2007. He then move to Spain, in Vitoria, was loaned to Valencia and then returned to Vitoria until 2011 (he averaged 11.3 points per game in Euroleague). He won the Spanish championship in 2010 and before the Kng’s Cup in 2009 and the Spanish Supercup in 2008. In 2011 he was signed by Anadolu Efes Istanbul and remained in Turkey until 2014. In 2012 he averaged 10.7 points per game in Euroleague while making 57.5% of his attempts. In January of 2015 he signed for Cedevita (10.0 ppg, 58.8% in field goals during the Eurocup) winning the Croatian Cup and the championship (11.4 ppg, 78.3% from the field, 6.0 rebounds).
NOTES – He played the 2008 Olympics, the 2007 and 2011 European Championship with Croatia… In 2006 he won the Bosnian Cup with Siroki. In 2007 he was drafted by Miami with the number 39 of the NBA draft and was promptly traded to Indiana. His NBA rights still belonged to Indiana.
