Olimpia completed another perfect week with a 82-77 road win in Treviso. It was a battle for most of the 40 minutes, Olimpia led consistently, but couldn’t get away, the margin never was larger than seven points, and Treviso kept coming back. Led by David Logan and Christian Mekowulu, the home team took a five-point lead in the fourth quarter. Olimpia responded once more, with a couple of threes, made by Gigi Datome and Sergio Rodriguez. In the closing minutes, using a small line-up, Olimpia rode Zach LeDay outstanding game (24 points, seven rebounds, 9-for-9 from the field) to defend the margin. “It was a tough game, the one we expected, and Treviso played an excellent game. I must congratulate my players once more, because it wasn’t easy to find the energy, both physically and mentally, to play another tough game, but overall we did,” Coach Ettore Messina remarked at the end.

While LeDay scored 24 points, overcoming foul troubles that plagued him in the second half, Sergio Rodrigeuz added 16, Malcolm Delaney 12, going 7-for-7 from the line, and Kaleb Tarczewski scored 11 points, too. “It was important to get Vlado Micov back – Coach Messina remarked -. He will be more ready for the games that are coming our way.”

Treviso kept coming back, with its aggressiveness in the middle, but gradually Olimpia fixed its rebounding problems, and in the end was the defense that put the game away after three three-pointers made in the fourth by Datome, Rodriguez and finally Kevin Punter. Olimpia went 9-for-21 from three and made 21 out of 23 free throws. It was the win number eight in a row, across all the competitions.
